Booking Policies

Bookings can be cancelled with a full refund up to 60 days in advance. Cost for the workshop is quoted in Canadian Dollars (tax included). Your invoice will show a charge for CAD $1142.86 plus 5% GST, for a total of CAD $1200.00. You can pay in the currency of your choice, at the current exchange rate. Refunds for cancellations will be provided in Canadian Dollars at the time of cancellation (or the equivalent amount on that day), minus a 6% processing fee. Your workshop fee does not include travel and accommodation, and CE Trips is not responsible for any aspect of your travel arrangements. About the Presenter and Daily Schedule

Dr. Hein Swanepoel is a psychologist in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. He has spent the bulk of his career working with complex cases, addressing the impacts of severe childhood abuse, sexual violence, and intergenerational trauma. The focus of his doctoral research was the development of integrative treatment models for complex trauma cases. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Swanepoel has taught both Masters and Doctoral level students as an Adjunct Professor of Behavioral Sciences, and overseen Masters research projects. He has acted as primary supervisor for several interns working towards licensure in clinical and counseling psychology, and has presented continuing education workshops on topics related to trauma and neurodevelopmental disorders to a range of health and mental health providers. Dr. Swanepoel has also submitted assessment reports that had been utilized in legal proceedings in both British Columbia and Alberta, and he has been qualified as an expert witness in psychological assessment by the provincial court of Alberta.

Day 2 (Jan 28, 2027 09:00 to 12:30): Toward a Theoretical Model of CPTSD; Adaptive Information Processing Theory; Schema Theory; Integrative Theoretical Considerations; Developmental Trauma Across the Lifespan; Cumulative Trauma and Complex Presentations; Theory-Informed Case Conceptualization.

Day 3 (Jan 29, 2027 09:00 to 12:30): Ideographic Case Conceptualization; Trauma Symptoms as Maladaptive Coping Strategies; Psychoeducation and Fostering Insight & Motivation; Treatment of Core Trauma Symptoms; Reexperiencing Symptoms; Avoidance Symptoms; Persistent Sense of Threat; Dissociation.

Day 4 (Jan 30, 2027 09:00 to 12:30): Treatment of Disturbances in Self-Organization; Disturbances in Affective Dysregulation; Disturbances in Self-Concept; Disturbances in Interpersonal Relationships; Integrative Treatment Planning; Clinical Complexity and Therapeutic Considerations; Integration & Wrap-Up.

The hotels require a minimum stay of January 27 to 30, 2027 (the workshop dates). You are welcome to extend your stay with the same booking code for up to three days before or after the workshop.

Hotel rooms at the Iberostar complex typically do not include transportation. The hotel complex is about 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport. There are plenty of taxis available, or you can prebook transportation prior to arrival.

Hotel rooms are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee that rooms will not sell out. We strongly recommend that you book your room and workshop at the same time. CE Trips is not responsible for your transport or accommodation.
